Rockabilly Hall of Fame legend, Art Adams is well known around the world for his two 45’s on Cherry records from the late 50’s. The rockabilly community consider his songs: "Dancing Doll," "She Don’t Live Here No More," "Rock Crazy Baby" and "Indian Joe" rockabilly classics. The 45s have been reproduced many times and the songs have been included on numerous rockabilly compilation albums over the past 40 years.
Collector Records re-released these songs in 2003 on the cd, “Rock Crazy Baby.” In 2005, Art recorded his second cd, “Rockin’ My Way Around.” It was also released on Collector Records. This cd includes several new songs written by Art as well as his rendition of some of his favorite classic 50’s tunes.
In June of 2006, Art has a third cd, “Dancing Doll,” being released on Flying Saucer Records. This cd contains 18 songs including obscure rockabilly songs written in the 50’s, original songs and the original version of “Dancing Doll.”
With his recent shows starting in 2003, Art has become very active in the international music scene. Over the last three years, he has played large rockabilly festivals in Las Vegas, Toronto, Sweden, Indianapolis, Green Bay and Hemsby, England. For 2006, he is currently booked for festivals in Indianapolis, Spain and France.
Art continues to put on a strong live show. His new recordings and tours have helped to build a new following of rockabilly fans throughout the world.
His current band consists of several veteran musicians:
Bill Stewart plays lead guitar. In the 60s, Bill played in a band with Art and was reunited for a 2003 tour. He has been touring and recording with Art ever since their reunion.
Mark Cutsinger is the driving force on drums. He is a premier standup rockabilly drummer. In addition to the Art Adams Band, he has played with Bigger than Elvis, Zero Boys, Freightliners, KGB, Windowpane and the Rastabilly Rebels just to name a few.
Danny Thompson shares the lead guitar role. Danny has fronted Bigger than Elvis, Messarounds, Sloppy Seconds, Hot Rod Nebula and the Magnatones.
Mike Strauss plays doghouse bass. He has played with the Rockaholics, King Creole, Beki Brindle, John Barney and the Passengers, Juketones, RockDoll, NovaCain and Big Jim and the Twins.
His current band played on his third cd, "Dancing Doll." They will be playing several shows in support of the new release. If they come to your town, don't miss the opportunity to see the raw energy and drive that Art and his band deliver during a live performance.
